Suggested tweaks for existing features
Going to start listing stuff I've come across on the forum that could use fixing or tweaking by the admins. (I could have hijacked another thread for this, but I figured I'd just start a new thread in case I get stupidly verbose, and so everything is consolidated in one place instead of stuck in between other posts. ;D)

Dec 20, 2012:
No registration link on front pagefixed!- Form field names (like on the registration form and the edit profile pages) turn black on mouseover, which makes them disappear into the site's black background
A lot of buttons (like for adding a new topic, editing, etc.) blend in with the background graphic, so they're hard to find sometimes, when they're not on top of the black backgroundfixed!
Added Dec 23, 2012:
- Music restarts every time the forum refreshes — can we set it to not auto-play, or to remember whether it's paused or not? (It might be good to set the default to NOT play for other reasons, too, like for people who are already listening to something else on their computers.)
- Can we add a darker-than-default gray to the text color options? It'd be nice to be able to "gray out" stuff that needs less emphasis (like items on this list that have been taken care of ).
- The "in-game name" field doesn't show up under the profile options for at least one person (ahem, me ).
- Post text sometimes overlaps the "online" button in the top right corner of a post, which makes it hard to read.

Hopefully fixed? Put a background to them, but not sure if it looks okay.Nanodragon wrote:A lot of buttons (like for adding a new topic, editing, etc.) blend in with the background graphic, so they're hard to find sometimes, when they're not on top of the black background

Not really sure of a good solution for this but when opening multiple tabs the music overlaps... maybe a mute button if there isn't one... I love the music though and it might not be a problem until you guys can get it to loop.

If you want, I can try to take a look at the code and see if I can see what's going on. I'm not a world-class expert, or anything, but maybe another set of eyes would be useful.
Also, the background on the quote, edit, etc., buttons looks fine to me. Woo! Thanks!

You could just leave a little note in small orange text right under the music bar? (Something like "Click above to stop or start the music"?)

Oh, BTW, I'm adding new suggestions to the post at the top to keep them all in one place. And if anyone else posts something in this thread, I'll add it there, too. (I'll try to add any suggestions or issues I see people posting elsewhere, but no guarantees...)

Think I've almost got this pinpointed down. Give it a glance tomorrow. Edit: Fixed?Nanodragon wrote:

Setting it to not auto-play is easy, however remembering your place in the song is not, however this I would think would need to be a voted on issue. Care to lead the first forum vote Nano?Nanodragon wrote:

I'll give it a glance, see what I can do. Edit: Don't normally play w/ colors in posts so I had to see what you meant first. Gonna post an image, and if you mean what's circled in red, I can't add colors to the palette I believe, however, direct your attention to the blue circle and you'll find your color options are limitless (And yes, I used various shades of grey there to emphasize my point. http://www.superbuddies.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=10358 gives you an extensive list, just remember the hex code (the #xxxxxx numbers, get you the correct color more often)Nanodragon wrote:Can we add a darker-than-default gray to the text color options? Should be fixed, but had a side effect of clearing the field for everyone. So people that previously had it typed in will need to re-type (Sorry!)Nanodragon wrote:The "in-game name" field doesn't show up under the profile options for at least one person (ahem, me ).
I'll tinker with the png and see if adding a bit of transparency will fix that. Maybe I'll just try rotating the text and making it smaller. Edit: Made it smaller and rotated it and uh.... it came out..... eh, different.Nanodragon wrote:Post text sometimes overlaps the "online" button in the top right corner of a post, which makes it hard to read.

Re: Suggested tweaks for existing features
Is this still an issue? I tried to look into the mouse over problem in my profile area and it's not black. Is it only for the registration page?Nanodragon wrote:Form field names (like on the registration form and the edit profile pages) turn black on mouseover, which makes them disappear into the site's black background
I would settle for it playing only some of the time, say 1 in 5 times? I know little enough of programming that I do not know if this is an easy tweak or not. Can you add more music that plays a random one every time you get on? I'll start ripping some of the in game music so we'll have some variety.Nanodragon wrote:Music restarts every time the forum refreshes — can we set it to not auto-play, or to remember whether it's paused or not? I looked into your profile page and the reason it doesn't show is because you left the in game name field empty, I guess it won't show anything at all if you leave it blank.Nanodragon wrote:The "in-game name" field doesn't show up under the profile options for at least one person (ahem, me ).
The rest of your concerns, I will look into once the holiday season is over, in truth, I haven't been taking care of the site since two events ago and Cordio has been the one doing most of the work so far. If you guys see him, give him a pat on the back for all the work and effort he's put in here. I owe you mate! ^_^

Cordio took it out. He wanted to use the Kudos like in the game but couldn't get it to work yet. Either that or he forgot. LOL

Re: Suggested tweaks for existing features
I dont know if this would be for this page or the wiki but it would b really nice to know the max level for upgrading a clan. As in how some max at diffrent levels but theres not really a way to know unless you remember when you got the clan, or you've maxed it out already.Having a way to tell on this site would b nice so that everyone can know which clans we should b dumping those jewels into. i would try to look it all up if someone could get it one this site or the wiki.

Re: Suggested tweaks for existing features
I wanted to use the kudos, but could only use a certain size, and never got around to replacing it.
As for clan maxing.... they max at 100.....? What're you asking exactly? http://ninjaroyale.wikia.com/wiki/Jutsu_System

Re: Suggested tweaks for existing features
one thing that may help this site. is to recieve a msg or an easier way to know when someone sent you a friend req. i've sent a few out but the only way to know you have one is to check the page that you use to friend someone. so they only way to know you have a req is to be sending one to someone else. just a thought...

what i meant by the max for clan is the % they get when maxed to lvl100. like the skitter will max to 120% at lvl100 and the reynard will b at 140%at lvl100. without knowing what clan maxs higher one wouldn't know what clan to dump the jewels into. and as far as i know the only time the max stat are shown is in event tips during the event. so months later when you have enough jewels to max a clan it's hard to remember who is worth it. thanks Cordio

This thread is for forum tweaks and suggestions, not game tweaks.

Re: Suggested tweaks for existing features
it would be nice to be able to actually have the friend feature functioning. seems pretty pointless. i've had these req's pending for a cpl weeks now. i just keep adding to see if anyone checks the page to accept or deny their friend reqs

I just accepted yours, so it looks like its functioning, however, I know of no way to alert people they have friend requests, so not sure how to bring attention to others, lol
