How the Combo Edge Works
------------------------------------
When you encounter a team battle raid boss for the first time after your team is assembled, you will see the word "No Edge" on the bottom right corner of the raid boss window. When one of your teammates attack the boss, that triggers a combo and the edge will start at 1.5x. Attacking while the edge is at 1.5x will boost your normal damage on the boss x 1.5. For example, if your normal damage on the raid boss is 1 million, at 1.5x edge, your damage will be 1.5 million. Each time a teammate attacks the boss the combo edge will keep building up (1.6x, 1.7x...etc) until it reaches 2x. 2x is maximum edge. You will do twice more than your normal damage at this point.

You alone cannot build the combo. At least two teammates have to take turns to build up the combo.

There is also a timer for the combo edge. It will start to tick down from 1 hour after attacking. Each time you or your teammates attack, the timer will reset giving you more time to attack. But about every 5 attacks, the time gets shortened. After so many attacks, the timer will only give you 5 mins to keep the edge going. If no one attacks during that time frame, the combo edge will disappear and you and your teammates have to work again to build the combo edge up.

Tips on Attacking Raid Bosses
------------------------------------
**There are two types of raid bosses during crackdown event.
1. Team battle raid boss: Only your teammates can attack this boss. Only appears 2 hours before and after a team is assembled. Please see Team Battle Schedule in game or visit The Storming of Mt. Zen for more info.
2. Non-team battle raid boss: Players that randomly encounter this boss during missions can attack.

**The road to higher ranking in this event is by killing raid bosses and getting MVP's or #2/#3.

**If you are a low level or if you don't have decent gear, and if you KNOW that you won't get MVP or #2/#3, use just 1 battle point PER raid boss. Using 3 battle points knowing you won't get top 3 is wasteful.

**For Ninjas with better/decent gear, wait until the combo edge is at 2x (team battle raid boss only). Let the lowbies build up combo, then attack at 2x. You will do twice the normal damage on the raid boss.

**It is recommended that you save your karma, cookies & doriyaki(s) for team battle bosses only. Team battle raid bosses have higher rewards and points than non-team battle raid bosses. Plus you can take advantage of combo edge.

Additional Tip: Super Boss

**If you cannot kill the Super Boss in 1 or 2 go's, try to wait out the frenzy. That way you won't encounter the Super Boss anymore.

Wait. It will open up. I am taking it real easy this event. Its 11 days. To get the epic suit, all you need is 10k per team battle. That's my target. Ranking not so important.

And minimal usage of dora (s) only where the benefits are there. Otherwise am keeping my dora for future use like in the primer event (when it comes back), as that will help a lot with rank. Second target is to collect 100 dora (s). At 30 now.

Sarah, you do realize you don't need to spend to get the epic suit right? Unless you want the gold plague to go with it. New favorite clan?

oh yes, i know i can get the epic w/o spend, i just want gold plaque on suits that i like. :/ I'll have to see towards the end i guess... but i really have to stop at one point so idk.

Does the clout you earn after you finish stage 8 add to the other stages when they are available?

sadly they dont. cuz whats the point of locking the stages if they did?

I'm not enjoying this crackdown event like I did last time. I feel they keep these stages locked in an attempt to scare people in spending money, thinking they wont have enough time to obtain the suits.

Personally that was the case with me in this last primer event. I would have had no trouble getting the last suit if it hadn't been locked.

I used to play a game made by Perfect World Inc called Battle of the Immortals, and totally got sucked in. I ended up spending thousands of dollars. In the end I had to make a desperate move. I made dozens server wide shout outs that I was giving away free stuff and a coordinate locations Hundreds of people came. I gave away tons of items and pets that 90% of the players had no chance at getting. This was the only way I was able to quit. This game reminds me of it so much because of the constant temptation to spend.

Its the standard money template now in mmos. Make the game free to lure ppl, entice them with nifty shiny stuff that cost money. Tera used to be subscriptions but they fell behind in the mmo business they just announced in Feb that they're making the game free with purchasable items. Same goes with star wars the old republic mmo. Sure this is a lower form of mmos but its nonetheless an mmo and utilize the same tricks.

Stage 9 is now open.

I hardly collect points while the stage was closed.
First day i was at position 9 with around 50k and since then i made only 14 k.

Any reason for this?

I missed out on the Tengus today.

It s 5.31 PST now but thunder tengu doesnt show up on my challenge screen.. Im waiting until my BT and energy full since an hour ago.. and 1 more click is level up..
anyone knows why thunder tengu hasnt shown up?

Because the schedule for tengu is actually 6pm pst not 5pm pst

I got to stage 8 the first night, I was able to beat the super bosses like nothing with only my standard gear. Sure they locked stage 9 but I just farmed super bosses for points because I was getting the 2000 point boosts from beating them. I think I logged in 12 minutes before the round was up and someone stole MVP from me to close the gap so I beat 4 SBs and overkillled it lol. But now It takes me two go around to knock them out at stage ten :/.

I feel your pain scythe, I actually loved the lock out. I too, did farm super bosses for pts. In fact, I'm prob gonna get the epic panda suit before i get the rare panda suit lol. So who needs to do the stages anymore?

You can tell how imbalanced it is when a lot of ppl got the epic panda suit before they even get the rare panda suit. The super boss is way rigged now. Don't ya'll remember when we use to get at least 15 secs to kill the super boss if we didnt kill it the 1st time? At least that one was feasible to get than this stupid 9 sec crap. The only way I c any1 killing it in 9 secs is if they get another boss encounter right after the 1st encounter.

On a different note, Im ranked #68 right now, not even using all of dorayaki(s) daily limit with one boss to claim. Maybe I can go for gold plaque with just spending a few bucks.
